An official souvenir first day cover, postmarked 28th March 1981, the day of the first London Marathon, signed by the founder of the race Chris Brasher, plus Roger Bannister and Chris Chataway. On 6th May 1954 Brasher had acted as pacemaker for Roger Bannister when the latter ran the first ever sub-four-minute mile at the Iffley Road Stadium in Oxford. Brasher paced Banniser for the first two laps and Chataway paced the third. Only 250 of these covers were signed, this is number 151.
