In the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, he played Max Kalba, an Egyptian nightclub owner and black market racketeer who possesses a microfilm that Bond and the Russians are keen to get hold of. Other film credits include The Taming of the Shrew (1967), Fiddler on the Roof (1971), The Day of the Jackal (1973), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and Before Sunset (2004).
