A vintage 5x3 card signed in person, and adding 'Good Luck', by Wilfrid Hyde-White (1903 – 1991) the English actor whose best-known screen role was Col. Hugh Pickering in My Fair Lady (1964). Described as a "classic British film archetype", Hyde-White often portrayed droll and urbane upper-class characters, military officers, judges and landed gentry. He had an extensive stage and screen career in both the United Kingdom and the United States, and portrayed over 160 film and television roles between 1935 and 1987. His credits include The Third Man (1949), Carry on Nurse (1959), Two-Way Stretch (1960), Let's Make Love (1960) alongside Marilyn Monroe, On the Double (1961), Crooks Anonymous (1962), Ten Little Indians (1965), Fragment Of Fear (1970) and The Cat and The Canary (1979).
