A vintage white 4½ x 3 card signed in person by Gina Lollobrigida (1927 - 2023), the deceased Italian actress who was one of the highest-profile European actresses of the 1950s and early 1960s, and an international sex symbol.. Her appearances in Italian films brought her to the attention of Hollywood and she made her first American film, Beat the Devil, in 1953. As her popularity increased she made The World's Most Beautiful Woman (1955), then played the female lead in the circus drama Trapeze (1956) with Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis, and appeared as Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1956), with Anthony Quinn as Quasimodo. In 1961 she won a Golden Globe for Come September, then co-starred with Sean Connery in Woman of Straw (1964), with Rock Hudson in Strange Bedfellows (1965) and Alec Guinness in Hotel Paradiso (1966). In 1968 she starred in Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell with Shelley Winters, Phil Silvers, and Telly Savalas (the plot of which is the basis for the stage musical Mamma Mia!), and was nominated for another Golden Globe. By the end of the 1970s, Lollobrigida had embarked on what she developed into a successful second career as a photographic journalist. She photographed, among others, Paul Newman, Salvador Dalí, Henry Kissinger, David Cassidy, Audrey Hepburn, Ella Fitzgerald, and the German national football team. In 1974 she managed to obtain an exclusive interview with Cuban leader Fidel Castro. In 2018, Lollobrigida received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
