A cheque dated March 3rd 1964 made out for $135.41, drawn on the account of Red Skelton's production company and signed in biro by Red Skelton (1913 - 1997). The memo indicates that it is a weeks salary for the payee! Skelton, who has stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, began his show business career in his teens as a circus clown and continued on vaudeville and Broadway and in films, radio, TV, nightclubs, and casinos. He made his film debut in 1938 alongside Ginger Rogers and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. in Having Wonderful Time, and appeared in numerous musical and comedy films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, with starring roles in 19 films, including Ship Ahoy (1941), I Dood It (1943), Ziegfeld Follies (1946), Three Little Words (1950) and The Clown (1953).
